Before you get started on the tutorials, its worth knowing how a document is constructed.
A single DX Studio document can contain any number of 2D or 3D scenes, each with their own graphics and sounds.
The top level in a document is responsible for the organisation of the scenes. These can be layered on top of each other or displayed in sequence. At its simplest, a document has a single layer showing the view from a camera in a single scene.

Each part of a document has its own editor. By double clicking a scene, an editor will appear for it on the tab bar (shown below). To switch between editors, just click the tab for the scene or top level document that you want to edit.
