You can freely redistribute any files created with a registered version of DX Studio™. The freeware edition is for non-commercial use only, and files produced with it should not be distributed for profit.
For ActiveX control distribution, you can redistribute a free player either by downloading the installer, or using the following link directly...
http://www.dxstudio.com/downloads/DXWebSetupPlayer.exe
For Windows XP SP2 systems, the player download is 9Mb and should be all you need as DirectX 9 will already be installed. For distribution on a CD or for systems pre-SP2, you should include the DirectX 9.0c redistrbutable, which can be downloaded from http://www.dxstudio.com/downloads/DirectX9.exe as a single EXE to run before setting up the player, or you can download the DirectX 9 SDK and copy the redist folder from there.
DXStudioPlayerSetup.exe
| • | This setup will install the ActiveX player control and register DX Studio™ document types with the shell. |
| • | The component itself will check for DirectX 9. |
| • | If you are redistributing an EXE built with DX Studio, you do NOT need to install the player separately first, as it is built in to the EXE. |
