If you own a copy of VUE from E-on Software you have a powerful tool for creating images for new enviroments and spherical skyboxes. Best of all it's easy!
What you should know
It is assumed the reader knows how to use VUE. The VUE skills required here are:
- Make a new VUE Scene
- Load and modify an atmosphere
- Acess the Export Sky tools to export your work
This entry also assumes you have created your atmosphere and want to know the proper settings and how to chop it up after export. So if you haven't, yet. Go ahead and prep a scene.
Export the Sky
There are two ways to get the sky out of VUE and into DX Studio.
1. You can set the export to bitmap and using the dimensions 3072 x 4096. This makes each square 1024 x 1024. Then slice it up for mapping when you make the acutal enviroment. The slices are done like this:

2. You can change the output to UV Spere like this:

Then use "Import Spherical" button when making the evironment to import it.
Importing to a new Environment
Follow this link Creating a dxenv - environment to learn how to make an environment.
